Well, hello there! Welcome the Kohi Game Engine Forum!
This forum is an extension of my YouTube channel at http://youtube.com/travisvroman (http://youtube.com/travisvroman) and my Twitch channel at https://twitch.tv/travisvroman (https://twitch.tv/travisvroman). This, as well as my YouTube channel, are my way of trying to give back to the game development community for the support I have received over the years. I would not be where I am today without the community.
This is a community for anyone who wants to make games. I don't care if you are a AAA developer, an independent or solo developer, hobbyist or someone who is just thinking about getting into game development. We are all here to help one another learn and grow and make friends along the way.
That being said, there are some guidelines:
👍 Do these things:
1.) Introduce yourself in general. You'll be greeted warmly.
2.) Keep topics relevant to the given channel. If you want to promote your game, use project-progress. If you want to discuss development-related topics, use c-cpp or general-dev for example. Share links in 🔗┃links. To join the programmer, artist or game designer roles, use bot-spam to join the appropriate rank.
3.) Always post in English unless in a channel which allows otherwise.
4.) Be nice - we're all here to support one another. Support instead of tear down.
🛑 Don't do these things:
0.) Do not take credit for the work of others. There is a zero-tolerance policy here for this. It is called plagiarism, and it is not only deplorable, but illegal. It will get you banned. Give credit where it is due.
1.) No discussion of religion or politics.
2.) No nudity or NSFW content. If you have to ask, don't post it.
3.) No disrespectful behavior or mean-spirited comments toward other developers.
4.) No illegal, racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic content. No make money online offers, gambling (besides loot boxes!), or weird scammy-looking posts.
5.) Don't just take, but give as well. This is meant to be a forum for discussion, not a live stackoverflow. Questions are fine, but please search first.
6.) Impersonating a mod/admin is grounds the :BANHAMMER:.
There is an art channel which is safe-for-work ONLY ( art ). If it's NSFW, keep it in DMs, please.
Safe-for-work is artwork that would be considered "family-friendly", so it should be kept to content acceptable for folks 13+. No nudity, blood, violence, etc.
Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning first, followed by a ban for repeat offenders.
We reserve the right to remove you from the server for any behavior that we deem inappropriate at out own discretion, regardless if it was covered in the rules here. That being said, we tend to be pretty chill around here so we doubt that will happen. Basically, exercise common sense, don't be an ass and have fun!
