Hello, and welcome to the Kohi Game Engine forums! After reading the Rules, introduce yourself! Tell everyone here a bit about you.

Give us a bit of background, maybe things like where you are from, what you love to do, and what brought you here.

I'll go ahead and start us off. I'm Travis Vroman, although if you're here you likely already know that. I started programming at the age of 7 on an MS-DOS machine using QBASIC writing simple menu-driven games. That means I've been writing code for 30+ years, technically.

Aside from this one, I have a personal website that I update every once in a while at travisvroman.com. You can find out a lot more about me there.

In 2021, I launched the Kohi Game Engine series on my YouTube channel as an educational resource on a way to build a game engine. Not the only way, not even always "the right way", but my way. It's a massive, ongoing experiment, and now I'm using it to build a game called Shadows of Illumina.

A couple quick facts, I switched to C from C++ when starting this project, and haven't looked back since. I've technically had my YouTube channel since 2009, though I only seriously started posting to it around 2017. It started off as a  car channel, believe it or not! Most of those videos have been moved though.

I live-stream twice a week typically at around 9PM Eastern time over at my Twitch channel.

Hey all! I'm Maverick, and I have a problem. That problem is I didn't join the forum sooner LOL

A small bit about me:

I'm in my late 20s. I've been programming as a hobby since somewhere around the age of 10 or 11(Around this time I made my first "game" in Game Maker, circa 2007?). I live in the Midwest, and my day job is working for a global holdings company working on the "Data Platform" team, which is essentially a programming-heavy fusion between SWE and IT/Infra/DevOps. The language I enjoy writing the most is Go, but professionally I mostly write in Python(if I'm not building a SQL query). C has been on my list of languages to dive into for a very, very long time, but I haven't taken the time (I feel) that is necessary to delve into the depths I desire.

I first found Travis and the Kohi project back in 2023 IIRC, and have been a huge fan ever since. While I miss almost every stream(except for the april fool's stream -_- ...), what I love is that when I do join, no matter what, Travis is friendly and happy to engage in conversation, both related and unrelated to stream.

I don't know what else to add here without feeling like I'm filling out a profile on eHarmony, so I'll let it at that.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything or want to chat!
Yeah, yeah, I'll get around to filling this out some time...
